European start-up TerraSpark has completed its pre-seed financing round, raising over five million euros to develop space-based solar energy and prepare for initial pilot applications.
European startup TerraSpark announced in March 2026 that it completed its pre-seed financing round, raising over five million euros to develop space-based solar energy. Investors include Paris-based venture capital firm Daphni, Sake Bosch, angel investor alliance better ventures, the Hans(wo)men Group, the Luxembourg Business Angel Network, and Karaoke Club. The financing will fund further technology development and preparation for initial pilot applications and live tests.
TerraSpark's founding team comprises CEO Jasper Deprez, a serial entrepreneur who built Tradler into a global HR tech platform; CTO Dr. Sanjay Vijendran, former program manager for the Solaris space-based solar energy program at the European Space Agency (ESA) and contributor to the Mars Sample Return Mission; and COO Matthias Laug, co-founder of Lieferando and Tier Mobility. The company is headquartered in Luxembourg and was founded in 2025.
The company plans to begin with wireless power supply for a live event, followed by an orbital technology demonstrator in 2027 and a first space-to-Earth power transmission in 2028.
